We have not mentioned much about framing elsewhere, but this is the section where we will do so, because the topic is wall additions (Wall removal or "wall substractions" is done more often since the "open concept" rooms are more modern and popular, but that will would rather be considered demolition work). Additions are made for many purposes. It could be to create more walls such as for a extended kitchen with a refrigerator (photo), or to form a new closet, galley kitchen, or even pony walls for toddlers/pets. Of course, both wall removals and additions can be done in the same home if so desired.
